INFLUENCE OF THE AIR TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVE AIR HUMIDITY ON THE PARAMETERS OF THE REPRODUCTION OF THE SCANBROWN MINKS

Abstract
An analysis of the impact of chosen microclimatic elements on the reproduction of Scanbrown minks was conducted in a fur farm in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Province. The analysis showed that the largest numbers of litters were noted between the 20th and 30th of April and the 1st and 5th of May, when the air temperature was approximately 16o C, while air humidity oscillated between 60 and 65%. It was assumed that significant increases in temperature could have led to fewer females giving birth between the 20th and 25th of April. It was noted that a temperature above 10oC and air humidity of approximately 68% lead to a shorter pregnancy period in female Scanbrown minks.
